Vastra Daan (donation of clothing) is among the most sacred forms of charity in Hindu Dharma. It is considered an offering of dignity, warmth, protection, and respect to those who are deprived of basic necessities. Hindu scriptures describe daan as a powerful spiritual discipline that purifies one’s karma and cultivates compassion, humility, and detachment.

In the Sanatan tradition, clothing is symbolic of honour and self-respect. When one offers clothes to the needy, it is considered equivalent to offering shelter and protection. Hence, Vastra Daan is regarded as a highly meritorious act that generates punya (spiritual merit) and invites Divine blessings.

Under Rudra Centre’s guided service, Vastra Daan is performed with traditional Vedic sankalpa and proper dharmic method.

Process
1. Beneficiaries are identified from low-income families, orphanages, or government-aided schools.
2. Clothes are purchased as per the age group and need of the beneficiaries.
3. A Rudra Centre Pandit studies the Kundli of the Yajman and finalizes an auspicious date for the Daan.
4. On the day of donation, Sankalpa is taken by the Pandit on behalf of the Yajman.
5. The Rudra Centre team performs the donation respectfully and ensures it reaches the beneficiaries.
6. The Yajman receives photos and videos as confirmation of the completed Daan.
